Micro-needling is an advanced treatment for skin rejuvenation, fine lines, acne scarring, pigmentation and stretch marks.
It creates micro-point channels within the skin to stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin, which are essential building blocks for healthy, smooth, younger-looking skin.
Micro-needling is the use of tiny needles to penetrate through the skin to create a wound healing response. The wound healing response initiates the release of natural growth factors to stimulate collagen formation and cellular tissue.
We're huge advocates of Micro-needling for collagen induction (CIT), it has so many benefits. Controlled skin injuries produced by micro-needling send the skin into a repair mode that triggers the body to produce new collagen as well as elastin, providing our skin with plumpness and resilience. It's not unlike doing resistance training in a gym - we injure the muscle, provide it fuel to repair and it increases in size and quality.
This treatment is most effective to revitalize the skin and restore damaged skin to good health, resulting in brighter, firmer skin, improving skin texture and visibly diminishing fine lines and wrinkles.
A series of 3-6 treatments is recommended to maximize results. It takes 28-30 days for full collagen synthesis, 1 treatment a month is optimal.
